you dont mention salt....does that mean im ok removing that sooner?

Leave the salt, it will kill the free swimmers. Have you looked at the cycle and stages of the ich parasites? When the spots on the fish fall off, they bury as cysts in your substrate, from the cysts immerge a lot of free swimmers who go looking for and then attach to a host, your fish. Even if you gravel vac you may miss a cyst in the subsrtate. So if you remove the salt now, the free swimmers that will emerge from the cyst will re-infect your fish and you will have to start all over again. So just be patient a little while longer!
