Hi my Cichlid is showing signs of Ich (white spots)he also is swimming irregularly. What is the best way to treat this? I have turned the temperature up to 28 celsius. I was going to use aquarium salt but I have a Pleco in there. SO wat do you guys recommend or will the increased temperature be enuf. Thanks Btw the spots are on the top of his head. There are only about 3 atm so I want to treat it b4 it gets out of hand.

Also one of my guppys recently died she had white lines down her tail. Also the male died of a bacteria infection cud it b linked? I have tested my water for ammonia and nitrite ect levels are fine

Define 'fine' - which test kit are you using, what are the exact readings? how often do you do water changes and how much do you change each time, what size is your tank and exact stocking? Bacterial and fungal problems arise from poor water quality.

In addition to raising the temp, use a treatment for white spot. There are various available - interpet, king british, api, etc.

Hi the readings are 0 for everything. I do a 20% water change every week. 2 golden barbs, pleco, cichlid, female betta and upsidedown catfish. 50 gallon tank.

0 for everything? 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 0 nitrates? Zero nitrates suggests your tank isn't cycled. How long has it been running?

Do you know what kind of cichlid it is?
