I have a 75 gallon tank. 8 cichlids, 2 mono, and a placo (sucker fish)

the two Mono's have ICH! no signs on any other fish.

I took the mono's out of the tank and put him in a goldfish bowl. (I don't have another filter tank.)

how should I treat the Mono's?
what should I do to the main tank, where there are no signs of ich but the two ich(y) fish were in the main tank.

thanks
Osi

When it comes to ich, i like to use a medicine called rid ich+, try getting it from your local petstore, it works really well, i also heard salt works, but i have never tried it(fish only had ich twice in like 6 years! :) ) good luck with your fish tank!

Should I put the fish back and treat everyone equally ... the whole tank? or should I do something just with the two fish that have the obvious outbreak. I was just reading about Salt and raising the temprature to get rid of ich. I just got my tank stable and populated ... I am nervous to add chemicals to the tank.

But salt will hurt the Placo won't it?

I'm up for suggestions. I am worried to keep the Mono's in the small bowl for too long.

Oh ... and i own a medication "ich away" has anyone heard of this? is it any good. not sure where i got it.

ich away should work fine raising your water temperature should also help, if i was you, i would treat the whole tank to make sure that the others don't get infected

Tell me how it works out plz

Any treatment for ich (whitespot) is designed to kill the parasite while it's in the water where you cannot see it. The ich cycle starts as a capsules lurking anywhere in your tank, it hatches with lots of the parasite in side( this is the only time they are swiming in your water) and attach them self to your fish (this is when you see the white spots) feeding off your fish only leave the fish as a new capsule to multiply and repeating the process. Putting the temperature up speeds up the cycle allow quicker exposure to treatment when the are in your water!
