Ich Treatment

I am currently treating some fish for Ich. However, I want to switch to another medicine. How long would I have to run the filter with frest carbon in it to clear out the old medicine? It's an AquaClear 50 and a 20 gallon tank.

48 hours usually.
What type of fish and whats the temp? Which med are you using and which are you wanting to change to? If using meds with malachite green then switch off overhead lights.
Usually, turning the temp up to 84c will kill it off but add lots of aeration, same if using meds as they take oxygen out the water.

You would have to do another 30% water change and run black carbon for two days, whitespot can take two rounds of treatment, so i wouldnt blame the med just yet, would be good to know which med you are using at the moment.
