I have been treating the tank with King British white spot control. This treatment has been continuing for 12 days so far i.e. 6 doses with a gap of 48hrs per dose as instructions state. However the fish now have no visable signs of white spot but still flick, water specs are all within required range. Have luckly no fish loss so far as i think i caught it in the early stages.

How long before this curse goes?

I would carry on for a few days more just to make sure i has gone completely, it could be the med making them flick.

thanks Wilder,

The only problem is that i am all out of this medicine after one more treatment in 48hrs. I have just bought another make Waterlife protozin but did not want to switch over unless necessary. Do you think this will suffice?

Should be enough. Good luck, keep temp at 30 as well.
Waterlife meds are good, leaning towards using them if i have to over interpet.

yes, king british treatment has worked so far but i was not that impressed so bought waterlife just in case for possible future use:-(

I dont know what you think about preventative treatment for new inmates i.e waterlife say treat with myxazin and i have seen people suggesting a treatment for ich on introduction of new fish?

Yes they are some products on the market for when you introduce fish but don't no how good they are, melafix, general tonics, tonic salt, and myxazin, best advice i can give is a quarantine tank, also can be used as a hospital tank, worth the money.

Have most of the stuff for a quarantine tank, just not the tank! What size should I be looking at for general community fish and how long do you quarantine for?
(I know it makes sense but it just seems a waste of another tank that could house a more permanent display of fish...)

Depends on the fish you keep for size, 8 to ten gal for meduim fish, usually 3 to 4 weeks, it's not a waste of money as you can use it as a hospital tank as well.

 Believe me it will be worth it.
