Alright, I will start off with some tank parameters.
Tank #1 40g community (one of my platys has 3 spots after exposure to my infected betta)5 female platys, 1 male sword, 4 albino cories, 1 Albino BN, 12 juvie platys
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 10
pH - 7.5
Temperature 82F (slowly raising it to 84f, started at 78F)

Tank #2
10g Betta Tank with 1 male (full on white spot) and 1 CAE
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - <10
pH - 7.2
Temp 84F (brought up from 78F)

Tank #3
3g Betta Tank with 1 male betta (was never in contact with other infected fish, but now showing visible white spot)
Ammonio - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 0
unfiltered tank which recieves temperature matched, dechlorinated water changes every 2-3 days
tank heated to 78F

Am I missing something? I have great water parameters, and the affected male that has NOT been in contact with any of the possibly affected fish has been in his 3g for almost a year, and all of a sudden he is sick? What is going on here. Did I mess up somewhere?

Currently treating all three tanks with Kordon Rid-Ich plus.

Have you got completely separate sets of equipment for all your tanks? If not, it could have been transfered that way.

Yes. I do not use anything for my smaller betta tanks that I use for the larger communities.

This is so frustration. I seriously cried last night....Blue, the betta in my room that has it, I have had him forever. He was my very first betta. If I lose him I might just quit with fish.

Dunno what to say - apart from keep using the medication. I had whitespot in my little tank, and the meds sorted it good and proper.

Fingers, toes, all crossed for you!

Thank you. I think I caught it early though. There were only three small white spots on Blues face, but he is eating and acting normal. And Flare is the same way. He didn't have nearly as many this morning and he is eating fine and swimming. Neither seem to be having problems breathing. I am doing water changes on all tank after work. As far as all of my platys and swords, not a single one of them is showing signs of it, but from what I understand, they don't usually get outbreaks when they are happy. I just hope that I do not cause them any stress at all having to up the temp and medicate them ...

I just cant believe this. These are all my fish, and I am really really worried about it.

I think I remember you had a problem recently with Flare and another betta. The other one got through the divider into Flare's domain. didn't you move Flare into the community tank temporarily? Did you use the same net in both tanks? Ich can be brought on with stress. The fight Flare and the other betta had looked like it was very stressful. Moving Flare into the community tank was stressful. Hopefully they will all improve with treatment.
I really hate it when someone says they are going to quit keeping fish. I hope you only said it out of frustration. I can understand that. Don't quit. There aren't alot of caring fish keepers out there and you sound like one of them. We'd all hate to lose you

LOL it was out of frustration. I love my fish, and I love fish in general. I did move Flare temporarily, but it was Ice I was worried was coming down with it. The good thing is, even though my community was exposed, Flare seems to be the only one affected. The other fish are fine. I am still treating the tank though, because of the exposure. Ice is doing great. He is also quarantined, but not showing signs of illness. Flare is looking better with the treatment. The one that confuses me is my betta that is in my room has a few white spots on him. I have had him for almost a year, and I have not changed anything about how I care for him. I do not use any of my community equipment for my 3g betta tanks. I am treating him now too. He is the one I am most worried about losing, as I have had him for so long.

As far as quitting fish....no....i just started fishless cycling a 75g lol

I'm glad you were just letting off some steam. We all need to do that once in awhile! :hyper: I just bought a 75 gallon off Craig's List for $60. I was concidering doing a fishless cycle on it just so I can say I've done one, but cloning from one of my older aquariums is so much faster and I am not a very patient person. Glad to hear Flare, Ice, and the betta in your room are all responding to treatment. How is Ice doing? He was pretty torn up.

Ice is doing good. Flare is losing the whitespots on his face, so I think he is going to be okay. Unfotunately, Ol'Blue, the betta in my room, passed away last night.
