can the common bristlenose pleco take temperatures of 30 degrees celcius for the treatment of ich parasites? I have an outbreak from the pleco

Plec don't like high temps so i wouldn't go up to 30, maybe two degrees less to see how he goes, increase aeration with the high temp and med, good luck.

What med are you going to use cause I'd recommend NOX-ICH and like say you have it in a 50g instead of doing the one drop per gallon which would be 50 drops you would have to do 25 drops instead since they are scaless fish.

I have Intrepet White spot Plus. Would u recommend that. I've never seen NOX-ICH at the lfs or further afield. It contains formaldehyde

Interpet whitespot med is fine.

I've just dealt with ich in my tank and took the temperature up to 30.5C for about a week as a last ditch to kill the stuff (white spot plus didn't work for me for some reason).

Anyway, my bristlenose was perfectly happy and showed no visible signs of stress. I did up the temperature gradually though over a few days. This is obviously no guarantee that yours will be fine, but you can certainly try it and just watch him carefully. If he stops moving about as much / feeding then lower the temperatures again.

You need to run a couple of air stones in the tank at 30C as well. I'd hoped the Ich would go at 28C, but it didn't wipe it all out. Not until it got to 30C did it go.

Incidentally, I wouldn't personally put the meds in while the tank is at 30C, because I think it would be too stressful. I used the Ich plus at the recomended 26C.

Good Luck!

My female krib has started laying eggs in the coconut shell. Will this kill off the baby kribs within the eggs?
