Ich Medicine

I suspect one of my gouramis has Ich so I bought some Ich medicine. The bottle recommends I turn off my filter while treating the tank. Is this a good idea?

They want or say to turn off the filter. Dont really think thats a bad idea as long as you still have some aggitation of the water to help the oxygen. But what I usually do is turn the filter to the lowest setting and that is just as good.

DO NOT turn off the filter while treating. What most medications want you to do is remove any carbon from the system.
