Hi,

I just put some serpae tetras in my 50G and they came down with ICH pretty much straight away. I want to sort this before it spreads to my other fish.

I have a heavily planted tank with gouramis, tetras, harlequins, khuli loaches and cory cats. So I need advice on a med that won't harm my scaleless fish or kill my plants?

I only have one tank so I need to treat the whole lot at once.

Advice appreciated thanks.

Do you have any ich meds at the moment? If not, I use Cure Ick, and it works great. I've used it once before and it didn't hurt my cories or plants at all. However you could move the cories/loaches into another container if possible just to be safe.
Good luck with it! Ich is an awful thing!

the best for ich treatment for scaleless
fish is protozin @ half the stated dose.

Esha Exit is perfectly fine at full dose with all scaleless fish, as well as harmless to plants and filter bacteria. It works quicker than Protozin too, IMO :)

Well I seriousely dont like ich medicine much they made my tank blue and killing bacteria in my filter like mad. The old way to cure ich is the best. Just raise temperature to about 86 and add salt. Some said loaches r weak againest salt but I dont find it much different then any other fish in my tank. And also if you dicide to use medicine read ur info on the medicine carefully before use. Do not use over use or under use medicine. If it doesn't said or mention anything about half of does go for full as some time under use of medicine is only giving time for ich parasite to get use to the medicine due to not enought does(which lead to more deffensive parasite, this thing r really hard to deal with). So rather use recommanding does first by ur medicine info first.
