I have a very severe ich infestion in my 120 litre community tank. Remaining inhabitants are 3 guppies, 1 ram, 1 female cockatoo, 1 male agassizi apisto, 1 peacock goby, 5 black widow tetras, 4 diamond tetras and 5 dwarf chain loaches.

Dead so far are 2 diamond tetras, 3 dwarf chain loaches, 2 agassizi cories, 3 panda cories, 1 bulldog plec, 2 peacock gobies and 1 badis badis. :byebye: :byebye: :byebye:

i am treating with King British ich meds, but no response so far. I haven't added salt because of the loaches - would salt do less damage than ich?

The peacock goby, cockatoo and apisto are not showing any spots at all. Should I remove them to another tank (my 40l snailarium) or would this stress them too much?

Any advice?

Thanks

Edit: PS..... if I bought a UV steriliser would that massacre the ich???? Been thinking about getting one, not to use all the time, just on tanks that have illnesses/algae probs.

Leave all the fish in the tank as they all will be affected anyway, turn temp up to 30, and cover the tank with a blanket, you could add a teaspoon of salt with the plec, before you redose do a gravel vac to remove the parasite out of the gravel.
