ok, had changed the substrate out in my tank, and noticed the very next morning that my two newest fish have ich and the female has a tiny bit of fin rot, I have uped the temp and will add salt- I already use .5 teaspoon per gallon anyways. because I have 1 molly, 4 guppys,8 platys, 29 gallon tank. I did use a little bit of melafix for her fin rot, but have not used the ich meds yet because I have only uped the heat this morning and the ich is still in the first stage on the fish...

so I would add the ich meds when?

how much more if any salt per gallon, and I do have ich meds....is there any meds that DO NOT turn my silicon green or blue?

Raise temp to 30.
Add the med now.
Increase aeration in the tank as the high temp and med reduce 02 in the water.
Do you only have livebearers in the tank.
Salt usually one tablespoon to 5 gallons.

only 4 guppys, 8 platys, 1 baby molly...no other types of fish
the 1 tablespoon to 5 gallons for the ich treatment...what is the normal amount of salt for the fish I have?

and I guess everything will stain the sillicon blue/green...just didnt know if there was any meds that didnt.

thanks:)

That is the normal dosage.
Though I wouldnt add that much, I would add a teaspoon to a gallon.

with only livebearers in the tank you could add more salt.
Any medication that is blue or green in colour will make your water and silicon go funny colours. Triple Sulpha can work on whitespot but not on velvet. Jungle Guard from recollection did not make the silicon go green but it did turn the water green.
