Ich And Salt Levels

When adding salt to tank to treat for Ich, Do you add salt based on full aquarium size or amount of water you are adding to tank. Also should I use aquarium water for diluting salt prior to adding it or do you use treated tap water. Thanks in advance....Need answers quick as ich is taking over tank...came out of nowhere. I haven't added new fish in a month.

One table spoon to 5 gals, but can't use salt with scaless fish like cory, plec, clown laoches.
Even neon tetras don't tolerate salt to well.

Thank-you...So if I have Cories I should treat Ich with medication and high water temps?? I have Quick Cure which contains Formalin and Malachite Green but I hear it stains tank corners...Any experience with this??

If you have cory and then i would go in with half dose it tough for bottom dwellers don't tolerate parasite med to well and with the high temp and med it makes it difficult at the bottom, thats why you have to really increase areation in the tank.
Corys are not prone to whitespot.
