Ice! (ice Sculptures,that Is)

This morning my daughter and I got up bright and early (that would be 11 for me, the crack of dawn I tells ya!) and headed to Grapevine where this huge (and I DO mean huge!) hotel has an amazing ice sculpture display. Looking back on my photos, I'm surprised at myself for not taking pics of some things....like the ice skating bears on the pond I was SO excited to see a fish sculpture on the pond, I guess I lost track of my priorities.

Before we put our parkas on. We thought we could handle it in our own coats, good thing they were passing them out at the door! It was 9 degrees in there.

Brooke, oh my, Tuesday She's had a cough for a few days so I *tried* to talk her out of it and make her wait until the end of the week- she'd have none of that She was set and determined to go today, so..we went. She claims she could breathe better inside with the cold

I think they said it took a month or so to do it all. Which made me wonder what happens after the Holidays....do they just wheel it out into the sun and let it melt OR do they move them to a deep freeze and save them for next year? I'd want to save them and add on the next year. I wonder.....I wonder...
And yes, that's her name. It's one that people either love or hate...there is no in between.

We're off to a "parade of lights" downtown tonight and from what I have read- cowboy santas are going to be everywhere
