Hopefully you guys aren't getting sick of me posting lots of pictures. I'm just so in love with my new camera, and when I try to show the pics to my friends and family they just kind of not and go, "yeah thats nice". And since I can't see if you guys are bored, I can inundate you with them.

I went to my local zoo on Tuesday, the World Famous Topeka Zoo, the zoo is "famous" because it was the first to successfully captive breed bald eagles. It used to be a pretty crappy little zoo, most of the animals in small metal cages, but they're improved greatly in the last 5 years, building some very nice habitats, and I had fun wandering around. Ok, enough jabbering....on to the pics.

Thanks, the fruit bats are my favorite in the rain forest section, I look for them every time I go in.

OMG that arctic fox is gorgeous as is the black leopard

There were 2 foxes in the enclosure, brothers I think, they are adorable. The leopards were awesome, when I first walked up to their enclosure, one of them flew across and slammed the plexiglass right in front of me, then took off. She was so fast I barely had time to register she was coming my way. :shout: Up close you could see her spots, the leopards and tigers are my favorite.

If you right click on the red X, then click on show picture they should come up. I'm not sure why they're doing that, maybe I put too many together. I absolutely love my camera, it's great to make camera idiots like me look like they know what they are doing.

I  all your pictures!!! Your camera appears to be really good(as well as the photographer  ). I love going to zoo's too! I posted something in tropical discussion w/a ton of fish pics as well as a few animal. It has a 4.5 minute shark and ray video of the walk through tunnel too! although, the quality is not as good as yours! My camera died at the cat house(no I didn't have a 2nd set of batteries).

awww, i love your piccys - makes me miss the zoo.

Im going to have to upload pictures from my zoo when i get chance.

i love your pictures of the cats.

Thanks kj, believe me it's the camera and not the photographer, it took me 250 pictures to get 120 good ones. I'm getting a little better though. It doesn't help when you have to shoot through smeard plexiglass. I loved your pictures, I may have to stay over a day in Omaha on one of my trips to Wyoming before I move, I've never been to the zoo there and it looks great.

Thanks, our zoo has gotten a lot better, it used to have very few species and most were stuck in small cages :( , they're really made improvments and are steadily building more realistic habitats and getting more variety. The cats are my favorite too, I could have stared at the tigers all day.

You should of done a "guess what it is " game in the first pic i had no idea what it was until you said it was a sloth thought it was sometype of monkey lol :hyper:
Great pics especially of the big cats

I know what you mean, sloths are really odd looking. It's funny because he was in the same spot the last time I went to the zoo. . . 4 years ago!
I really love the big cats too, I'd been waiting to go until they finished the tiger/leopard enclosure this spring. I could have stayed there for hours watching them, though it did make me a little sad to watch the leopards pacing and stressed. Oh well, they'll get used to their enclosure eventually.

fantastic pics, i really enjoyed them. thanks for sharing them
regards Angel

Thanks Angel. :good:
