are naturally agressive because i have one and the first week i got it, before i know it the blue gourami is smashing my 2 red dwarf gouramis into the glass wall and viciously chasing them. Needless to say the next day they were both dead. was wondering if this was typical blue gourami behavior or a fluke of some sort?

i think it just depends on the fish rely, their not all just the same, sum have their own attitudes, and im not a guorami expert, i just posted cause no one else has :)

depends of your tank size and the type of fish you house with your three spot gourami, if you have just one thats usually a problem as they focus almost entirely on attacking your other fish. If your tank is to small the 2 dwarfs are constantly being in his territory and they cannot escape. it's usually best to keep 3 spots in large tabks with at least 4 of them so they focus more on eachother than other fish in the tank. they can also reach up to 13cm so they eventually need a larger aquarium and a 13cm fish constantly attacking a dwarf gourami which doesn't get up to 10cm in length usually means they will live a pretty stressful life

i've had a blue gourami once and he was one of teh most peacful fish i've ever had so weither you had a fluke or i had a fluke

Well my big blue is getting the heat put on him now by my big cichlid ^_^.
