dont give such silly advice, with a 1gallon tank it NEEDS to be changed 100% every other day

Funny, when i had mine in a divided 4gallon, i performed regular changes and they never got stressed

rather they got stressed than sit in dirty nasty water

also i wudnt feed him just once a day, id sat atleast twice, morning and b4 u leave for home

u ppl should,t be keeping fish if u cant provide them with the basics like correct water!  i hav breed oscars 4 ten years. get sick of ppl ringing me saying hi i brought that oscar off u last week just wondering wot size tank and wot water conditions it needs.
find out first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeh, from the breeder

I think the OP was right to ask the questions he did, he realised his mistake and wanted to do something about it :good:

kinda the whole point of the forum i think we ALL make mistakes and at least he asked to get it right, and goodness me it not like the poster thinks its a joke !!we can see they are really gutted about what they have done even tho it was a mistake, which they are now trying desperatly to rectify, good on ya!

ive made soooo many mistakes and learnt from all of them, a little  to say so but at the end of the day i would rather learn from experiences that ive had than take info from people with incorrect advice. whats with the oscar thing? im not even gunna give my reply to that one!!!.

I admire people stated mistakes as it proves that it has highlighted, they are doing something about it and asking if this was ok? i wouldnt take my dog to a vet in denial of a problem just in case the vet thought i was a bad owner, the truth always helps.

i think the op is a great fish owner, we have people in every day asking advise and 90% of them take it but the others look at me like im mad :hyper:

Thought I would come back and give an update. I have been doing 100% water changes everyday with the dechlorinator, and he is doing GREAT!!! He is swimming around just fine, eating and doing everything he should be doing. Thanks for all the help yall, i'm so happy hes ok.

That's great news......glad he's doing so well :good: Try to get some pic for us.....we all love photos :D

Well he is being a bit camera shy right now, but as soon as I get one I will post it up here.

Ok, here he is, fins out and all.

I have since been advised that cts need softer water than vts, and this does seem to be the case

Really glad to hear he's doing well. He's very pretty :good:

And good on you for coming here, saying you'd made a mistake (we all make planty of them in our lives!), and asking for advice
