So, I am thinking about trying one last spawn before Sky is a true JUMPING rabbit. But, Kiss is the most aggresive fish I have ever seen! I never owned a male or female Betta that mean before! She attacks every male I tried to spawn her with. Is there any true reason for this? Is there anything I can do to cope with her aggresion? Or has she just not meant the male tough enough to handle breeding with her? Because she has chaced all the males I have tried to spawn her with. Now, I might try with Lupin, but he is older and I do not know if he can still spawn.
I tried Bling once but she chaced him clear out of site and I had to put her back to have him come out to eat. So, even though he is a HM I cant breed him to her. Should I go get another female from the pet store to breed with my HM or should I try Lupin with Kiss. They are the same color :dunno: I am scared she will injure my pussy HM. So, I need your opinion?

I don't know if people's views on this forum have changed in the few months I was away but IMO its not wise to breed petstore bettas, they have unknown genetics. I feel people should only breed animals to try and better the breed, not just because they "feel like it"

I'm sorry but i'm with Jaded on that. If you want to breed get a good quality pair to do it with, that way you will have good quality fry. It does sound like you could use another girl tho she does sound like a bit of a brute lol. I would get a nice HM female and try again. good luck :good:

Not all LFS bettas are mutts, as I have 6 LFS bettas that are growing properly, and they have the same color patterns as their parents. I do not know your level of breeding experience, but LFS bettas are good to learn, and unpredictability with is also a good teacher. You are going to need to find a more agressive male, VERY aggressive.

have to agree with the first part, ive spawned local lfs bettas and the fry are showing a good combo of colours and finnage but these are bettas that have slipped through and shown good breeding qualities.

dont agree on getting a more aggressive male for her though as i believe that spawning the more placid bettas give a better result in the nature of the fry, all my spawns apart from 1 who decided to turn nasty half way through, have been from a combination of placids, theres nothing worse that having to sort out a torn up female or male afterwards, and why risk the health of a fish for the sake of getting fry.

This is very true, instead get another female that is less aggresive.

you guys are right on the petshop bettas there are some good ones around but most of the time they are to old and mutts. I admit my first spawn was from a pet shop betta and he did fine, but i was lucky to find a "rose in the thorns" plus the only reason i said to go for a good pair or at least a HM female (as i know the HM's you have are soooo nice especially bling  ) is so when the fry are of age they are easier to sell on.

Any way keep us uptoday with what you do :good:

Yeah, your right. We need gentler spawns! It will help the overall health of both fish, and the sibs will probably take longer to become aggressive.
