I just want some fish that are different, some not everyone has. It needs to be community freshwater compatible and it can go in a 10 gallon tank. Colorful fish are a plus.

Heres what I'm thinking

Harlequin Rasbors
GloLights
Glass Catfish (though these aren't colorful, I like them)

or I may just get 3 more corys and a snail and call it a day.

One more question if I do get a snail what (that can go in a 10 gallon) can I have to deal with my impending baby snail problem?

Glass Cats will get too big for a 10 gallon, and harlequins/glow lights are fairly popular, where atleast where I live they are. I think id go with 3 more corys and a snail.

As far as I know, reguarding the last question, if its one of the larger snail breeds, they need a mate to reproduce so just get one snail and your set. (dont quote me on this one though, do some research on it)

Indeed, glass catfish will get too big. I'd also consider what cory species you are talking about and what fish you have already.

The snails size doesn't really matter, it's the species, they can normally still lay eggs they just won't be fertile.

I'd probably go with the harlequins depending on current fish?

Really glass cats get too big?

Anyway, I thought snails were asexual.

4" fish, that are shoaling fish, will need more room for the shoal and sizes.

Don't use that locked in the closet rubbish, if we were going on sizes, I'm over 6' and could easily live in a room, that's 5 times that size long. Not the best place to live but it wouldn't be that bad. I'm guessing the 10g is around 20" long?

Thats where the research comes in--try googling the fish name and read many websites on them before purchasing, as well as asking on here because you can never be sure enough!

Edit: you do know that cories need to be in groups so go with the cories or take the two youve got back to the store so theyll be happy!

I'm already gonna get 3 more, push my corie pop. to 5.

What about painted glassfish, should they be kept in a school?

I already know they are dyed.

Please dont buy the glassfish... thats not only asking for them to die prematurely and for the "manufacturers" to make more, but its also asking for a huge blow up on here. If you love fish IMO, you wont support the cruel process of dying them.

When I bought them I didn't know they were dyed. But the deed has been done. They're pretty fish so I doubt one person or even a thousan people refusing to buy these will make any difference. I am not gonna buy any more of them but if they'll die the least I can go is give 'em a good home.

I'm not sure if they school or not.

Maybe you could get a few Kuhlie Loaches, if you want something different. There's also blind cave tetras, but I don't think they are suited for a community tank.
