from wot i'v read oscar's will move anything around to where they would like in the tank s i may be wrong
but some will help you

Silk ones, either wedged into the gravel but preferably glued into something heavy so they cant move them about I dont know of anyone who manages to keep anything other some java fern attached to bogwood with their oscars. Whilst they may not actually eat them, they do enjoy ripping them up and launching them around the tank.
