Maybe a totally stooooopid question...

I want more algae and i know some ppl who suffer from algae overloads are probably tearing there hair out reading this lol...

but basically in my Cichlid setup I can't seem to grow much algae! I've got a bristlenose who's 4 inch and screaming for algae lol

As soon as i get a little bit, the tanganikans I have graze on it etc and the bristlenose eats whats left.

Lights are on for a good 10/12 hours a day i'd say, 2 feedings a day so all the ingredients for it...

Any tips!?!?

get a tank of water (maybe 2 gallons?) put a few rock in it, put it on a windowsill.

you'll get algae everywhere and then you just put the rock into your tank, and the algae spreads. :D

Good idea Esfa :good: :good:

Move the tank to the brightest window you have :)

Also drop some algae wafers in for the plec.

Have you tried some courgette or cucumber? They love that too :)

oooh good idea, i used to feed a previous fish that.

If i pop it into the bottom fixed onto the screwcumber thing will the Bristlenose sniff it out on himself?

Yep, try to place as near to his hide out as possible, might take a few goes, try to leave it in for at least 24 hrs as they like it a little mushy :good:

Just keep ur light more then that to break the limit i guess algea will grow back.
