Could i put a lone male Krib in my tank? I've been wanting a nice centerpiece fish for my tank but can't make up my mind. I know a pair of Kribs could be a problem in a community tank. Please check out my sig for details on my tank. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

You should be fine adding a pair of Kribs. Make sure you have some kind of cave/tunnel structure. I used pvc pipes. If you don't want any real plants tore up in your tank I would get some Seaweed Selects. My kribs gobble a 1x3 in piece in about 5 minutes. They also love Sally's Frozen Brineshrimp.

I think i will go with only 1 Krib since breeding Kribs can be aggressive towards other tank mates. I may go with a single female Krib since they are more colorful than males.

You might want to rethink the female.

My female was very aggressive. I had to move her out of my 29g community. An adult male can be just as colorful.

Ask CS about her female. I think her's is also quite aggressive.

Thanks,i guess i'll stick with my original plan and go with a male.

I would

CC is right about my female non-albino. She was a right nasty piece of work and lived in the 40l by herself for a couple of months when she got too bad. I had to move her into the 160l when the angel fry arrived and she has been fine, too preoccupied flirting with Mr Krib to bother with anything else now.

Males can be very colourful and pretty too, Mr Krib is gorgeous. One of my most pretty fish.

I've had a pair in one of my 20's for a while with some other fish.. I added them last and do not have any aggression issues that I've seen.. Oy the LFS has a breeding pair that are just beautiful.. The blues and deep purples in their finnage is unrivaled.. They are each about 4 inches long.. Pretty big compared to the size of mine.. They don't seem to grow very fast..
