Try Aquabid or Ebay if you can't find them at the pet store.

it will be in a communityaquarium. isit impossible then? currently have 10 neons, 2 dwarf gourmais. 2 kribensis, 2 clown loaches, 2 golden loaches, few platys, 1 african knife. 180l tank

i ouwldn't put a betta in there too many fins nippers and they really don't get on with gourami. if your keen on getting one maybe get him a smaller 2+ gallon to himself

I agree, a big no no on your community.
However, if you're still set on a betta, it's pretty cheap to get them a 2.5 gallon, heater and a few plants!
They're not the priciest fish unless you buy from breeders.. But I suggest a rescue to start with anyway. (Walmart/Petsmart/Petco, that is)
