I Thought My Platy Was Pregnant

I thought my female platy was pregnant but she never had babys. She had a black spot near her fin. What happened?

The black spot you saw on your platy does not always indicate that she is pregnant, a more telling factor is the girth and depth of your fish: if she looks swollen and ready to burst she will be pregnant. What may have also happened is that she was pregnant and aborted due to poor water quality/stress etc, and therefore never gave birth. Hope this helps.

if she had black on her it chould have been that. or she chould have given brith and then eattin the fry. she also chould have been holding and gottin sick with the died fry coming out and then found them and later ate them
