I know most, if not maybe all tetras are carnivorous but i think my blind cave tetras are slowly gnawing my waterlogged leaves lol..

Or are they actually opportunistic omnivores?
 
I use dried oak leaves in some of my tanks, and as they break down it can appear as if they are being eaten, so this may be that.  But there is no reason why many fish will not nibble on the leaves.  There is a biofilm that is rich with infusoria, one reason why leaves are now known to increase the growth rate of fry, and I'm sure many fish would find this appetizing.
