i only recently noticed that one of my male german blue rama has been getting a little white patch on his head. in a matter of hours i noticed that it has gotten bigger. its white and cottony looking. is it a fungal infection and how do i get rid of it if it is? also will it spread to my other fish? how could it have happened?
the ram is in my 24 gallon tank with another male ram.

thanks

The main causes of fungus are stress and/or bad water quality. Fungus can spread so put the ram in a hospital tank, that also makes it easier to treat. I find Wardley's Promethyasul is good for treating fungus. Give the ram a salt bath before treatment begins.

I hope he recovers...

hmm yes well about that...i dont have a hospital tank lol. i'll try get some medication tomorrow. then i can treat the whole tank.

thanks for your help :)

"Methylene blue" is the name of the chemical that can be used. Most anti-fungal medicines will have it as the main component.
