I just tested my PH again a couple days ago, cuz I did a waterchange and cleaned the gravel and the PH was at 7.8 roughly, I have some PH down and put the recommended amount of drops in there, but the PH didnt go down, then I read that you shouldnt dramatically change the PH while fish are in there, OOPS, none of my fish are showing signs of stress or dying or anything. But could the PH be the reason why my guppies and platies arent giving birth?
Also, about 2 weeks ago when I got a new male platy (maybe it was three weeks) I actually physically watched him mating with my blue female platy (they even got stuck together once, sorry kinda graphic) and she isnt showing signs of being preggo, which she has never showed signs and I have had her with a male the whole time I have had her (year and a half) Someone talked about a fish being sterile, I thought they meant the male, but maybe they meant the female? Im tempted to set up another 10 gallon and seperate the guppies from the platies all together, but I dont know, maybe I should just not think about getting any fry, and than maybe one day I will. Reverse Psychology I guess.... maybe it just wasnt meant to be.
