Hi yall. I have one male gourami in a 3 gallon tank and I'm having trouble feeding him. I'm sure when most of you guys go to feed your fish, they notice you and they eagerly swim up to the top. However, my dwarf gourami never does. He spends most of his time on the bottom, usually hiding from nobody. When i drop in food, he doesnt notice. The food usually sinks to the bottom and while some is picked up most of it is not. What could i do to get him to swim up to the top? or better, just get him to eat? I know he's hungry, b/c when he seems food coming down, he goes crazy. What should i do? ;)

As long as he's eating it shouldn't really matter if he eats at the surface of the water or pecks food off the bottom.

Also, what type of gourami is this? 3 gallons is pretty small for any gourami regardless.

Edited for horrible spelling

To start a 3 gallon tank is way to small for a dwarf gourami, they need much more room to swim around in :)

My gourami have similar habits, they wait for the food to come to them  It dosn't matter where he find the food as long as he's getting some he'll be fine

:)

He's prolly introducing himself to other fish when they take his food so he doesnt get time to snatch it lol
