Hi im new my name is glenn.
i have just set up my new tank and it is the same as a rekord 70!
i bought 6 zebra/leopard danios.
i have noticed one of them is really fat and i only got them yesterday!(is it pregnant) it seems to be chasing the other fish around at their tales.
when will it spawn, if it does how will i know. these are the only fish in my tank at the moment as you have to add them weekly!
many thanks, glenn

danios are egg scatterers so pregnant is not the correct term. I belive it's called being gravid. anyways check out my website for breeding and sexing tips.

:hi: to the forum.

Danios are egg layers, so pregnant is not quite the right word. It may be ready to lay eggs though, or it may just be the general plumpness that female danios show. To breed them successfully, you need to get some marbles for a corner of the tank as this allows the eggs to escape being eaten.

Go and say hi in the newbie forum and then ask in the fish breeding section. I have never managed to breed danios, but lots of others here have.

[EDIT: The_Wolf pipped me to it, And thats the person to talk to about Danios. And yep, its Gravid.

Dictionary.referance.com...

Gravid

Carrying developing young or eggs: a gravid uterus; a gravid female.
