I think my cycleing is against me!!!

Hey, i have been cycleing for almost 8 weeks in my 10 gallon tank and it's really giveing me a head ache!!! but recently the ph has shot back up and bit to 7.2ppm and the ammonia is below 0.25ppm but the nitrite remains between 2.0ppm and 5.0ppm.

Is the ammonia and ph results a sign that the nitrite will also ajust soon?
Please some one tell me if i need to do something or if everything is normal because my whole family is really getting annoyed at me because i've had this tank up all summer and still no fishies!!!

this should have been in the beginners question section. You just get to introduce yourself here.
For someone to really help you, you should list the concentration of the ammonia you're using, what brand it is, are you sure it's just ammonia(check the label and read all the ingrediants)? What concentration is the ammonia? How often and how much do you dose the tank w/? It needs to not have perfumes and other additives? In relation to when you're dumping in the ammonia, when are you taking the readings. You're going to need to list your exact procedure, so someone can see where things are going wrong. If you accidentally involve water with chlorine, could kill the bacteria, you're trying to grow.
