I Think My Cycle Is Working!

Hi all,
First can I just say thankyou to all who have given me advice and assistance over the last week. It has been invaluable.

I am now on day 7 of my fishless cycle and after several days of either no ammonia level drop or v.small drops my level has finally dropped to 0.5ppm (yeehaa)

I have redosed with 4ml ammonia and will check again tomorrow. Hopefully my API master test kit should arrive either today or tomorrow so I can then start testing for nitrites etc and pH.

i have just finished cycling a 72l and yeah that took around 8 days to get to 0 ammonia, long wait now untill the nitrate eaters grow mine took another 16 days

its well worth the wait

Wow - that was a quick cycle! I had a 72 day one...really tested my sanity.

yeah it was nearly 5 weeks before i added fish i wanted to keep checking it was ok. seemed nothing happend for ages then bang ammonia was gone then ages again then bang nitrits were gone then i checked for another 10 ish days it was all ok

gonna test pH and for nitrites over weekend.
