Harry was swimming about happy as Larry this morning and i came home this afternoon and he looked totally limp and lifeless but he hasn't gone..yet. I've tested the water, all fine, temp fine etc. I did a bit of a water change for him and put some tonic in which i thought may help but he still looks very poorly.

I don't know what i can do to help if anything. If you can help or anything please do. I love him dearly. xx

How old is he?
Any signs of being bloated.
Changes in colour.
Anything to go on.

Not sure of age

No bloating going on

No change of colour

He's been getting over fin rot and has been diong so superbly, new growth of his tail and everything. He looks/looked realyl pretty.

Sadly finrot can be a secondary bacterial infection.
If there no flicking go in with a bacterial med again.
Good luck.

Same thing happened to my Betta, he did really well and survived but died two days ago from whitespot..

RIP!

I would say try treating with a bacterial medication.

How long have you had him?

I've had him for about six months. I just don't know what the matter is, it came totally out of the blue. It's just like he's given up. I can't see anything physically wrong with him. It's put on a bit of a downer as there doesn't seem to be anything i can do. I've treated the tank with the anti internal bacteria meds but he's still the same this morning. I've put him in a jug coz he was struggling to get to the surface.

I hate death.

Is his tank heated and filtered? If so, what's the temp and how fast is the heater? Sometimes, if there is no heater, the bettas get cold and go quiet and still. Also what are the actual water stats? has he been eating?

Does he look paralyzed? I had a better about a year ago that seemed to go paralyzed, he laid on his side at the bottom of the bowl, then i moved him to a shallow dish, unfortunatly he had to be put down, but he was very fargone.

Aww, so sorry your lil guy isn't doing well.
It could be old age, could be an infection, just so hard to tell sometimes.
*HUGS*

His tank was heated and filtered, the temp was always around 24 deg Celcius. The ammonia, nitrite were at nil, nitrate low. Everything normal. He'd been eating fine too. All of a sudden yesterday when i got in from work he just lost all will. Did look rather paralysed, i don't know why he wouldn't try. That's why i made the water more shallow so he could reach the surface easier but alas he has gone.

He passed away this morning. When i went home for lunch i found him:(
