i've got a 38 uk, 45 us gallon tank.
it hasn't even got water in it yet because i cant decide what fish i want. (i dont want to rush into it as i done that before, got the wrong fish and had alot die :( )
(i am looking after a small community tank at work tho :) )

I've been looking at the diy section and mainly at the "make your own tanks"
i've been looking at my room and now want a tank that will fit around the walls, kinda built in.

I'm so tempted to waste all my money on getting this set-up.

I just dont know if i'm capiable of maintaining a tank of this size :(, it will be about 300 gallons, not sure if its uk or us.

I dont really know why i posted this, i just wanted to :fun:

 Don't say that !
It's not called "wasting" - it's called investing in your recreation and any free time you might possibly have ;)

I'm sure you will do your research well, but if you're going to go big scale it might cost you more than you though - especially if building yourself. Speak to the guys in the DIY section - there are some fab tips to be picked up there.

A mistake I made years ago was to take on too many tanks which involved hours of work each week - your idea sounds great but careful you don't take on too much, as you said yourself, your experience wasn't that great so perhaps it would be good to get your tank setup, see how you feel running it for a few months and then take a look.

I read a good post a while ago that puts things into perspective - you've got to be able to pay for the essentials to live and if you have any money for hobbies then fantastic, spend away.

It's easy to get carried away with a hobby like this as there are so many different types of fish that aren't really compatable with eachother and would require their own tank - as you're doing already, look around, see what you like and get that tank cycled, that way you can add the fish in when you've made your mind up.

Good luck
