I have jus purchased a arcadia arc 60l... I am thinking of new fish to put into the tank once cycled.
I want 2 ghost shrimp, betta... any other ideas of what mixes well?

mollies are good with them as long as they aren't sailfin, dwarf gouramis, tetras, corys, platys, female guppies(not males due to the tail being too tempting to nip at), snails, aquatic frogs, danios and shrimp.
these are the main ones i can think of at the moment but be careful as if it is male, he could be aggressive due to being frustrated or territorial or he will fight for his food! but they are very nice fish. when you get them, send a pic!!

I've always heard to never put Gouramis (of any type) and Bettas together, as they are related and the resemblance is close enough for them to fight/bully each other. Everything else in that list seems okay, according to what I've read. :) Just be careful with your stocking- tetras can get nippy if kept in too small numbers, and a Betta's fins make very tempting targets.

Also, African Dwarf Frogs (ADF's) are usually fine, but watch them VERY closely- I managed to get the frog from you-know-where that killed and ate one of my shrimp, killed the other frog I had in there, and killed my betta. In the space of 2 nights. :shout:

Oh, and just be warned- some bettas simply do NOT tolerate tankmates. Be prepared to remove the betta if things start looking dangerous. Adding the betta last so he doesn't get territorial can help.

I have von rios and glow light tetras in with my females

I had albino cories in with my VT male and now I have ghost shrimp which have survived so far I think partly cus My males cant see them And they have lots of hiding spots to seek cover in

Whatever you do, don't put Dwarf Gourami's with your betta...

I find my males like to 'chase' their apple snail friends that I have.
Other good options are;
Ghost Shrimp,
Amano Shrimp,
Dwarf Corydras,
Von Rio Tetra's,
Threadfin Rainbowfish,
Dwarf Pencilfish,
Galaxy Rasboras.

Hope this helps :)

What about a good sized group of some of the smaller corys (eg 10), a good group of some small tetras/rasbora (eg 10 ember tetra, microrasbora, etc) and a betta? So long as the betta doesn't mind them and get's along with them, they would probably be fine :good:

As others have said, I always put tetras with my bettas. They rarely bother each other and compliment one another's looks perfectly.
