is it normal for them to do well in low light i mean mine arent thriving but they arent dieing and they are growing and once they get too high do you cut the stem at a 45 degree angle and replant them to get more plants
 
Yea, my stem plants do well in low light. Not sure about the cutting though, wait for someone else more experienced to answer.
 
all right thats what i think because the plants are starting to reach a point when they need to be cut
 
Usually you cut cut the top about 3-4" down and replant those. You take the bottom, and throw it out.
 
Because it will only grow shoots, and won't grow upward anymore, since you cut it. You could leave it in the tank, and let it grow shoots, cuts those, and plant them so you have more stems of cabomba.
