I need to know if this sounds like a disease

I have already lost one cichlid with this. Now it seems like another one is doing the same thing.. It starts out with thier tail fin it looks like fin rot but I cant seem to get it well. The tail goes all the way off and then they start to get a flat belly and then they go on like that for mabey a week or so then they die.. I need to know what to do I have tried all kinds of medicine with no luck and I dont want to lose anymore fish like this. Can someone please tell me what they think this could be and how to treat it....

How long have you have the fish for???and what are your water parameters, normally when that happens that fish that's losing it's fin and the stomach caving in is the result of the harassment of other fish. I lost and auratus that have the same symptoms and died, but most of my fish are doing okay....See if that cichlid is eating at all if not, take him out if you have a quarantine tank and put some melafix and aquarium salt....try that and see....goodluck...

best thing you could do is add salt (aquarium salt) to your tank proper amount ofcourse whic is labled on the box. you could try useing parafix or melafex but it is your money it is much easyer for me to name the stuff but you have to buy it. do they have white poop by any chance?
