my male sailfin mollie has like a white glaze over his right eye.... and he also has like a white patch on his top fin... As well as that he has like a small patch where i think he may have ran into something wile chasing the female but its the white parts thats worrying me. He has now also developed a white patch on his left fin too.
my female has a white line on her tail fin as well....

can anyone help me in seeing what it is?
ive been treating the tank with anti - whitspot and velvet and it took the glaze off his left eye but now its on the right :S

How long have you been treating for whitespot...........and have you increased the temperature of the tank as this will help speed up the lifecycle of the whitespot (if indeed that is what it is).

Although this sounds more like velvet.....

Sorry I can't be of any more help......

a white glaze over the eye, i hav sucessfully treated this with a course of melafix.
as for the white patches, they sound more like the beginnings of fungus than whitespot to me. could you get a photo??

cloudy eyes is usualy bad water conditions . and the same with the fungus if it is . do you water change using a gravel vac ? sounds like a backterial problem . if tank is in order try some rock salt its a good healer

i thought it mite be to do with bad tank conditions... ive been waiting for my mums baby mollies to get a lil bigger so i can syphon it out because its filthy.. so im changing the gravel instead and then just adding more water. hopefully that will help

are you worried about sucking up the baby mollies with the siphon? you could tie a piece of gauze/tights over the end of the siphon so they can't get into it...i may be wrong but i think they will grow bigger and healthier if they have nice clean water. :)

Melafix will cure fungus, you need to do the full 7 days course as liad out on the bottle.

Have you had your water tested as well? The fungus may be caused by bad water conditions.
