Ok, I need some help, big time! My phone is overdue for an upgrade but having looked around on the internet I am now more confused than I was before! To keep within the topic of the marine world chit chat:

I need it for:

Taking the odd photo when I am out and about and I spot a fish/reef etc that i might want to share with you guys

Blue-tooth

Access to TFF on the move

Access to my emails from home and work

I would like a touch phone and it has to be something I can carry with me at all times when I am at work (not in a handbag)

I am on O2 and am happy with coverage etc, so don't have any plans to move from them.

I really like the look of the I phone and could get the 3g one for a bit of an increase in my tariff, but is it worth it or is there something out there that would serve me well but be less expensive?

Seffie x

Samsung tocco lite, a cracking phone, and for £15 a month on pay as you go you can have unlimited internet and texts on O2, built in camera with 3.2 mega pixels, and a built in browser. It has a nice and easy to use interface also.

I have the iPhone 3g in the states, here are my $.02:

It's awesome for web browsing (imo the best), camera function is OK, it's hard to mess up taking a photo with the iPhone, but it's not the most powerful camera out there.

I don't know if it's a service thing or a device thing, but it drops a ton of calls. I believe this may be more of an issue with AT&T than the actual phone.

The app store is cool too, and having a built in hard drive for storage is key.

The interface is much better than all of the windows phones and about the same as the droid, however i think the iphone caters to the less tech-savvy and will be easier to use for someonme not into software development (ie the average user).

Google maps is GREAT too, it has helped me find my way hundreds of times i've gotten lost. This requires that you have the data plan which is mandatory on AT&T anyway.

I think you'd like it Seffie, especially if it's offered on a different carrier.

my tocco AND my Tocco lite Are both broke.

Why?

Samsung has a faulty error and now i cant charge my phone :(

I'd recommend the Iphone... it is alot better and slimmer :good:

I would recommend Samsung I think there great and never had any trouble with them.

I am currently on my 4th Samsung upgrade had them for 5 years :good:

The Iphone 3GS get my vote aswel. The apps are seriously addictive. Theres a guy on Ultimate reef working on an app for marine water chemistry aswel iirc!

go for iphone 3gs because if you get the iphone 3g it carnt take video and it is only 2 mega pixels unlike the 3gs it has 3 also the 3gs is a bit faster on the web.:good: but samsung is good
