Do you think that in my 55g once I get the angels and they get bigger and start pairing up will there be enough fish to spread aggression out enough so one fish won't get all the aggression. I was planning on having 4 angels,3 long finned black tetras, 4 regular black tetras from my long 20g and the common pleco. So do you think that would be enough fish to spread aggression?

Do you think you can put more description in your thread titles, other than the "do you think" you often use? :) Also, you seem to needlessly make new threads when the old ones help. Might help get better responses.

Which black tetras do you mean exactly as I can't remember which they were from the previous thread, and the common may push the limits of a 55.

Sorry. Is the new thread title better? I mean the black tetras that are in my long 20 gallon tank. I know about the common plecos size but unfortuantly it is already stunted alittle bit before I found this site and got the long 20g to put him in till I got this tank.

So what do you guys think about what I want to put in and will there be alot of aggression with the angels when the pair up?

I really have no experience with angels, but if all 4 pair up I think you'd be fine, but if only 2 pair up, and the other don't, I think the 2 that paired up would bully the other fish, if that makes any sense.
And Durbkat, you need to tell us what kind of tetra you actually have. There is no such thing as a tetra thats plainly called a "black tetra". Here are a few pictures to help you figure out what fish you have:

There are a few others but by the way you describe them they sound like either of these. So next time you ask a question concerning your "black tetras" you'll be able to actually tell us what the heck they are...LoL.

It's the black skirted tetra. I always called them the black tetras because its shorter and thats what they are labeled as at 3 lfs's.

Angelfish aggression is usuall directed towards angels, or other fish that look like angels. I keep corys & plecs with angels pairs, it works out nicely.

You really can't tell until the fish pair up. Some pairs are quite tolerant of other fish in the tank as long as they don't come into their territory. Some pairs will claim a small corner as their territory, others the whole tank, including area outside the tank.

How could they claim an area outside the tank as theres? I mean what could they do besides start staring at you and maybe ram the glass.

I have a pair that has to have background (black plastic) on the sides of the tank. They see fish in neighboring tanks, and yes, they do start to bash themselves senseless on the side of the tank.
