That I want real bad but I was getting ready to buy them and noticed that they had velvet. I have never had a fish with this before How hard is it to get rid of?????? If someone could tell me I would love to buy them if I could get rid of that stuff...

the best treatment for velvet is copper sulphate. look for meds that contain this as the active ingredient. I belive that Atabrine (Quinacrine hydrochloride) is also effective and available in the states.

you should also raise the temp to 83f
turn off lights
and as always remove any carbon from the filter.
the entire tank would need to be treated as velvet is highly contagious and if one fish has it they all have it.

HTH

I dont think you should buy sick fish Angel Lady. You would have to buy the meds for them and then quarantine them from the other fish.
Velvet is really hard to cure from any fish and you could lose the fish anyway.
Wait until they get a good batch in.

Well I asked her to order it for me. So I sorta felt responsible for her even having them if you know my meaning. Then I went to buy it and it was dead due to her trying to treat them for ich and adding salt to the tank and the poor things couldnt stand all the medicine plus being sick also.. I just thought I would let you all know but thanks anyways...

Sorry they died. Will she order more for you?
