I have had this sword tail fro about a week, at first I thought she was pregnant but she isn't getting any bigger, and her black spot is still 100% black.....She dosent really look all that fat either....I took the best pics I could - hopefully they help a bit - I would REALLY appreciate any help, I have her on her own side of a tank divider and really want to put her back with the other fish if she isn't preggers.....

Thank you all again for all the help!!!

in the black box there should be a black blob it will take awhile to appear.once u see it u will know its definitely pregnant. i know this because i have the same fish, and got fry from it. but they got eaten i left them in the tank.

hers a pic of mine and shes already had some fry and theres more to come
yours is much larger so you could find yourself with fry extremely soon

they look pregnant to me! you can either leave them there and create planty of coverage for them to hide them or can take the fry and put them in another cycled tank. a shortcut if you need is to use water from your main tank to set up a fry tank and already mature filter wool for the filter to provide a 'cycled' tank.

i have left mine in their own tank but they were provided plenty of covereage by plants, carefully placed rocks to make caves and upturned shells with enough room for fry to get in but not the big ones. this has worked well for me today as my silver mollie gave birth last night and i have quite a decent size little bunch of fry swimming around still today.

Thanks everyone!! One just gave birth this morning!!!! Now how long should I leave her in there before returning her to the main tank? And how do I know if she has given birth to everyone? I heard that they give birth over a 12 hour period is this true?

Thank you all again!
