Hey guys this is very important i just went to look at my fish and saw that my balck molly might give birth soon. Her stomach is really low and from where she poops is kind of out. The problem is that i dont want to stress her out by putting here in a breeder so she can have her babies. Also she swims rapidly across the tank like she might be panicking or something. Also the male wont stop chasing her now what can i do i dont want to stress her out to the point where she wont have here babies. I have never had babies and i want to have them. Please help.

If the male is chasing her hes probably stressing her more than putting her in a breeding net would

I heard thst most livebreares go to one corner and sit there until they have the babies. Not this black molly all she does is swim around the tank and swim. How can i tell when its getting close for her to have the babies. She's fat and her belly is really really low and her opening is really out and kind of big. Someone please help.

Please calm down..........

....oh, and....no need to demand........

We have Molly that has looked like she is going to drop for the last week.........big fat squared off belly, opening at the back looking like you could drive a truck up it (sorry for the easily offended)........but nothing yet........

As was suggested above, if you try to de-stress her this will help.........remove the male if you can (stick him in the breeding tank.......see how he likes a little cool-down period).

We found with both our Molly and Platy mum that they started acting a little stranger......and then quietly went off into a corner....darker bit (Molly in a little cave, Platy up behind a plant and behind the UFG pipe)......and did their business....

Good Luck........

Hey guys i put the fish in the breeder tank for about 4 hours while i took a nap. She doesnt look as fat as when she went in. Her belly is still somewhat low. She still has her opening in the back. She pooped a lot. Could she still be pregnant or could maybe she already had the fish. 2) Will she stress in the breeder to the point where she wont give birth? 3) My thermometer says that the tempertaure is between 78-80 but i touch the water inside and it feels cold. Is this normal? My heater is set at 78. Thax

If your tank is havely planted you should leave her in the tank alone, not in the net and take the male out and put him in a little fry tank. That way Mumma is not stressed and she can have the babies. If there are lots of plants and hiding places the chance of the fry living is really good.

When my guppy girls are ready to give birth I have put the male in the breeder net as well to cool him off and it worked

Well I have only had two batches of fry and, but I'm guessing they were mixed happenings before giving birth ......... I had a female sword that gave brth while i was gone in the top corner of the tank the male chased and chased her my mother removed him for me maybe sme more females will help keep him more preoccupied next time u think about ur male molly ??? but i actually got some swords 3 days ago and one that has been sitting on the bottom like she is getting ready to deliver the male has started to chase her also .................but my molly on the other hand gave birth last night and seemed to not be stressed or acting funny AT ALL amd im almost sure that she went to the bottom to deliver b/c my last batch the male sword was following the female sword eating the fry as they dropped :S good luck p.s. if you absolutely know her and thing she is delivering put her in the breeder
