Hi I have a few tanks because I was starting to breed tropical fish, I went away for the weekend and when I got home I had dead fish every where. I have done my ph and my amonnia all my temps are right but they keep dying. I had noticed a few had died before I left but now the amount dying is huge. I just removed one platty that looks pregnant but yesterday she was skinny, I think she might be bloated, could that have something to do with why they are dying? My other question is why are they all dying when they are in 4 different tanks surely they can't have all got sick at the same time? HELP ME

how big is the tank tht theyre all in and list all your fish. When you went away were they being fed, was the temp ok ?

Ok.

What fish are we talking about?
How big are the tanks?
What exactly are your readings for each tanks?
Is there any chance you had a power failure while you were away?
Any chance something got into the tanks (fumes, dust)
Because its happening in all tanks, there must be a common demoninator here - when was your last water change?

>>>>>> I have tried every medicine there is but nothing helped

Doesn't fill me with glee, mixing medicines is not a good idea.

Anyway, we'll try and help you!

Either one tank had some sort of illness & got transfered to the other tanks by using the same net or other equipment, or some household product got into the tanks. Find out if anyone in the house did any carpet cleaning, or that sort of thing. Where are they tanks located in relation to the rest of the house? Some one using hair spray or some other aerasol product could be the problem.

First thing I would do is some large water changes, around 50%. From your previous posts you have a breeding setup for livebearers, you should be doing some good size water changes anyway.

List the meds you used, the sequence you used them in, and any water changes or other maintainance in between. I hope you removed any charcoal while medicating, as charcoal will remove medication.

Hi tonilee7,

The first thought that occurs to me when something goes wrong in more than one tank is to look for a similarity in something you are doing. Are you feeding them frozen food to condition them for breeding, for example? Perhaps you got a bad batch. Who was looking after them while you were away? Did this person overfeed them so that harmful bacteria began growing on the uneaten food? If you can figure out what the cause might have been, it would help a lot.

It will also help if you put your location in your profile. We have members all around the world who can suggest medicine, but since not all meds are available everywhere, it will help if we know where you live.

I hope they all recover soon.

alls well did water change, found out that the power had gone off while we were away, so more than likely they got to cold coz we had really cold weekend and we had big storms, so hopefully fish will be ok now. thanks everyone for the info

What does it look like when the fish go to the toilet is it long white and stringy, look for enlarged anus, and also does the anus look red and inflamed.
