any sort of sugestions will be apreciated :good:
thanks Cameron :)

the breeding box could be stressing her out , take it out and let her give birth in her own time in the tank , then net the fry , it takes a while but is much less stressfull for the mummy

I've had a mixture of experiences. I've had guppies in the breeding box, and they have been fine, other times they have been stressed out! It's a hard thing to descide. I've watched her give birth in the tank-it is great to watch! ......But i've also seen her give birth and the fry being eaten straight away! What i have done before now is put 2 females in the box-regardless to the other being pregnant-just for company. Also....a tiny bit of plant, something she can "peck at" or hide in a little (don't put too much in-a tiny bit will do!)
See how it goes....good luck!

We have just had our 3rd Guppy batch today.
We knew she was ready cause the back of the underneath of her belly went flat and she was just chilling in quiet corners of the tank. She didn't paticularly look for hiding places, she just stayed away from the others.
I noticed that she was hovering at the top the tank where she had been hanging out with her tail in the air and knew she was giving birth. We put her in the breeding tank and rescued 3 fry from the main tank. 48 in total.
Look for the flatness of the belly by looking at her face on. I know the fish don't always cooperate but this is the best way I found. Tail in the air is a definate sign, this happened with all 3 of our guppies.

Good luck and let us know how you get on

Charlie

Is your tank planted? I have fry in my community guppy tank and haven't had any problem with them. I have a corner full of cabomba and the babies hide there.

I had twelve adults in the tank. I bought a new male guppy from a lfs that shall remain nameless. I brought the fish home and put it in the community tank. The next day I find out it is sick, there's a bacterial infection in the tank, and I lose all but one of the adults in a week. The babies never got sick. (they're tough little suckers)

I've repopulated the tank now and all is good. The fry darted in and out of the cabomba now and then when they were tiny. Now they're bigger and they swim with the big boys!

Thanks
yeah my tank is planted it has two relativley larfe plants and i have a cave structurre made out of clay so they have many places to hide. i think i will just let nature take its course and take them out when they are born.

any more ideas will be appriceated and thanks to all the people who have give me advice :good:
