What is going on w/my new betta? He arrived with a weird growth on his fin, and then developed a hole in upper fin. Been treating him with salt and Jungle Fungus Eliminator which usually works very well. AFter 4 treatments, I used carbon to clean out meds and am using Kanamycn. Here's a pix:

Is the hole where the weird growth was? If so it was probably a parasite and I guess with your treatment its gone now. The hole will go away in about 4 to 8 weeks. I could be wrong though, anyone else have something to say about this?

Hi, Wilder, thanks. It's like cauliflower and it's still there under the area where the hole is. Here's a better pix of that:

Must be blind as i can't even see anything, for the hole i would use a bacterial med as you can get holes with bacterial finrot.

Those pix were hard to see, but it may look like the growth on the white fish. The growth is exactly under the start of his upper fin and is a darker white than he is, and is triangular shaped, the point going up towards the fin.

It's not shaped like cauliflower, but it is raised and somewhat thick.

I would try a bacterial med for now as the fish has a hole in its fin anway, good luck.
Just watch the growth and look out for a parasite just to be sure.
