I'm well anoyed.

OOO well, I have the last batch that are part of my exsperiment to X breed, and the batch before with a good young male.

GOD it so frustating. :X

Try investing in a five or ten gallon and move them a week befor ethey are due...
I have a 12g fry tank, divided into 3 sections, unfortunotly it is full, and when I realized she may birth any day, and would have to move my swordtail female that is less pregnant, it was to late :-(

I'm sorry to hear that.

Every time one of my female fish delivers her fry in the main tank, all of the fry always get eaten. :( Now, I move the pregnant females into a seperate tank with breeding grass so that they fry survive.

I hope you have better luck next time! ;)

unlucky its wickid to watch when it happens tho and even better to catch it on film - lol

The way I manage to keep my guppy fry alive until I move them out of the adult tank is to have a clump of java moss spread out over the bottom of half the tank (it's a ten gallon) in a thick layer. The babies all head towards it but it's spread out enough that they can go into it if the adults get under the layer of moss (which the cories do often). It has worked really well for me so far, the most I have found under it was about thirty or so.

my swordtails had there first batch of fry earlier this week i missed it as it happened over night like most fish do. It is nothing to be annoyed by it is more relaxing for them. maybe in order to see it put a video camera next to the tank when you think she is going to lay and video tape it with night vision although it would end up green.
