What kind should I get? I want a small one and one that will grow about 2-3 inches. I am putting it in my guppy tank.

10 gallons. 6 fish, they are all under 4 inches long. Oh and a baby fish that is like 2 centemeters.

1 fish inch per gallon is a useful rule of thumb. You've probably got twice the amount of fish in there than you should have already, and that's assuming they are all fully grown.

My advice is that to be nice to your fish, certainly don't get any more, and consider reducing your stock or getting a bigger tank.

If the current fish are guppies (he did say the guppy tank), they are not likely to be more than 2 inches long, maybe less if some are male.

So the current fish will be somewhere between 6 inches and 12 inches+ another inch or 2 when the baby grows up (assuming that too is a guppy).

About right for the tank I'd say, though if they are all females you may be pushing it a bit.

I'd leave well alone and not add anything.

We're agreed on that, regardless of anything else.

Didn't spot the "guppy tank" bit. He did say 6 fish under 4 inches long though. I know that an inch or so is technically under 4 inches, but I'm assuming they are 4" and aren't guppies.

Unless he lives by a nuclear power station and rescued them from the wild.
