I lost one of my gouramis today to swim bladder, she only started showing signs yesterday but died in front of our eyes today :( I also woke up to find one of my female bettas was dead with no signs of anything wrong. A bad day for my fish! :rip: :-(

I assume the two were not in the same tank?
Sorry for your losses. It's a shame when this kind of thing happens. :(

no they werent in the same tank, I dont want all out war on my hands lol! I have 5 tanks. I think we may have been over feeding the community tank, we didnt realise that we were both feeding them oops! we both thought it was our task!

Besides the 'all out war' scenario, if there was any chance they had died from something contagious, having kept them in the same tank would have highlighted this possibility (unless the two tanks shared equipment). If they were in seperate tanks and you feel they were being overfed, then your explanation is probably right. I was just worried that, if it was something, say bacterial, some of your other fish might now be at risk. Anyway, it's good that you have things under control now :) Good luck with all your fish!

my other gourami now seems to have some kind of parasite on it, not having a great time fish wise!

Aww - it's a pain when this kind of thing happens. Do you think maybe your tank's parameters are off? What sort of parasite do you mean?

All the water stats are ok Ive posted in the emergencies section about it, its really hard to tell what it is, maybe fungus? or a parasite, or a damaged scale? he is doing stringy poo, but i thought that was related to the other fish and the possible over feeding

Did you post a picture? I'll go see for myself :p

no sorry I couldnt get one he wont stay still long enough its rally hard to see with my own eyes let alone a camera

Lol - I'm useless at taking pictures so I don't blame you ;) It looks like you've received good advice in the emergency section anyway.
