I have 45 albino cory fry about 8 days old in a 10g tank, in that same tank I had a 2-3 week old mystery fry that is in its own breeding net with a plastic frame within the 10g tank. The mystery fry is either a rainbow fish or a tiger-rasbora , the latter not have being bread in captivity. So, no surprise I was taking all precautions to ensure this mystery frys survival...

This morning the fry is gone, I spent about 75 minutes helplessly searching the breeding enclosure...

I was sure the dead fry would turn up in the corners of the breeding enclosure netting somewhere...The fry did not turn up...

The fry was about 7mm long and I have looked meticulously. I looked on the breeding enclosures frame and netting very carefully, no signs of a "corpse"...

I hope this fry turns up in the tank, and it escaped somehow, but I have looked already for a long time, he seems to be gone!? I am flabbergasted!

What happened?

check the filter.

I have checked the filter...
It was in a separate net....

The filter is an aquaclear 20, wit a thick filter bag over the intake, there is about 2 DROPS per second comming out of the filter output(literally) I have pulled the intake tube upwards until the filter "turnover" is about 1-2 DROPS per second...No fry have got stuck in this filter yet AND this fry was separated within its own netted breeding enclosure...
