before I had never quarantined fish, always just took my chances.

Now as I was setting up my 75 and starting to get it up to a level I considered fully stocked I finally used my 20 (formerly my only tank) as a quar. I was lucky too. I am almost fully stocked in my 75 and what was going to be my last round of new fish for the 75 has turned into an ich fest. I've lost 2 of the 5 that were in this last round, hopefully no more, but who knows. Just glad it wasn't all the other fish that are in my 75.

Moral of the story, even if you only have one tank - a 10 or a 20 gallon perhaps- go and buy a large tupperware container and a heater and airstone (to make a cheap under gravel filter as described in the diy section) or something else that can be used as a quar, cause man do you not want to deal with ich or other outbreaks/infections in your main tank.

wish me luck with the quar tank.

Hi isu_guy :)

Quarantining is indeed a good practice to get into the habit of. I'm glad you avoided having a terrible problem in your big tank!
