will a puffer eat my 2 bumbelbee gogys?

I hope you came by this dead coral in a "green" way! Bringing or importing dead coral is largely illegal in the UK, and quite possibly in the US too. What used to happen was people would go smash up bits of living corals, dry them out, bleach them, and then sell them in shops for fishtanks and as curios. A staggeringly bad thing for the coral reefs. Only certain species can be traded, either dead or alive, and there are very strict regulations governing this trade. Sadly, dead coral continues to be smuggled around the world. Aquarists should resist the temptation to buy corals they are not 100% sure were traded legally.

Anyway, in a 20 gallon tank you're basically stuck with figure-8 puffers. Such a tank is just too small for a green spotted puffer.

Puffers don't tend to attack bumblebees, but they certainly do attack other kinds of goby. My South American puffer definitely nipped Rhinogobius and Awaous spp. gobies. I don't know if it is the yellow and black markings that dissuade them from attacking the bumblebee gobies. Personally I doubt it -- yellow and black is a warning colour combination on land, but not in the sea. Puffers aren't going to think these gobies sting like wasps!

Cheers,

Neale
